To be eligible for an Australian Remaining Relative Visa (Subclass 115), applicants generally need to meet the following requirements:

• Be Outside Australia: You must be outside Australia when you lodge your visa application and when the Department of Home Affairs makes a decision on your application.
• Remaining Relative Requirement: You must have no near relatives living outside Australia or temporarily residing in Australia. Your only near relatives must be eligible Australian citizens, permanent residents, or eligible New Zealand citizens.
• Eligible Sponsor: You must be sponsored by an eligible relative or their eligible partner who is settled in Australia and meets the sponsorship requirements.
• Assurance of Support (AoS): You may be required to provide an Assurance of Support to show that you are unlikely to rely on Australian Government welfare payments.
• Health and Character Requirements: You and any included family members must meet Australia’s health and character requirements, including medical examinations and police clearances if requested.
• Australian Values & Immigration Requirements: Applicants aged 18 years or older must sign the Australian Values Statement, have no outstanding Australian Government debts, and satisfy all applicable immigration requirements before the visa can be granted.
